This tool converts between frequency units using fixed conversion factors, for example, 1 megahertz equals 1,000,000 hertz, and 1 hertz equals 60 revolutions per minute. Enter a value in any supported unit and it's converted to all others using these standard ratios.
Hertz and its multiples (kHz, MHz, GHz) measure cycles per second, used for everything from AC power and radio waves to computer processor clock speeds. RPM (revolutions per minute) is commonly used for rotational speed, such as engine, motor or hard drive spin rates, and converts directly to hertz since both describe repeating cycles.
Divide RPM by 60 to get hertz, since hertz measures cycles per second and RPM measures cycles per minute.
Household AC power runs at 60 Hz in the US and much of the Americas, and 50 Hz in Europe, Asia, Africa and most of the rest of the world.
