This tool draws your chosen text diagonally across the center of every page in your PDF, at an adjustable transparency level, so the underlying content remains visible while clearly marking the document.
Watermarks are commonly used to mark documents as DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, or SAMPLE, or to indicate ownership before sharing a document publicly, without permanently editing the original content underneath.
Upload a 3-page PDF, type "CONFIDENTIAL" as the watermark text, and set opacity to 0.3. Every page gets the same gray text drawn diagonally (rotated 45°) through its center, sized proportionally to that page's dimensions, so a large page gets larger watermark text and a small page gets smaller text, keeping the watermark visually consistent in scale across mixed page sizes. At 0.3 opacity, the underlying page content remains clearly readable through the watermark, raising it toward 1.0 makes the watermark far more prominent (and the content proportionally harder to read through it).
Setting opacity to 1.0 for a document you still need to read normally, at full opacity the watermark text becomes a solid block over the content underneath, a lower value like 0.2-0.3 keeps the page usable while still clearly marking it.
Applying the watermark and then discarding the original file, this tool bakes the watermark permanently into a new PDF's page content rather than adding a removable layer, keep your unwatermarked original if you'll ever need it again.
Choosing very long watermark text on a small page, since font size scales down to fit the page's proportions, an overly long phrase on a small page can render quite small and less visually prominent than a short word like DRAFT.
