Round to Nearest rounds to the closest value at your chosen decimal place, the standard rounding method (0.5 rounds up). Round Up always rounds toward positive infinity, and Round Down always rounds toward negative infinity, regardless of how close the number is to either boundary.
Enter 0 decimal places to round to the nearest whole number. You can also round to negative territory conceptually by scaling your input, though this calculator supports 0 or more decimal places directly.
Round to Nearest picks whichever boundary is closer. Round Up always moves toward positive infinity even if the number is very close to the lower boundary, for example, 3.01 rounded up to 0 decimal places becomes 4, not 3.
