Commission Calculator

The base commission is simply your total sales multiplied by your commission rate. If you set a bonus quota threshold and a bonus rate, this calculator also applies that higher bonus rate, but only to the portion of your sales that exceeds the threshold, not to your entire sales total. This mirrors common 'accelerator' commission structures, where exceeding a quota is rewarded at a richer rate on just the excess.

For example, with 5% commission on 50,000 in sales, plus a 10% bonus rate on anything above a 40,000 threshold: base commission is 2,500 (5% of 50,000), and bonus commission is 1,000 (10% of the 10,000 above the threshold), for a total commission of 3,500.

Many sales roles combine a base salary with commission rather than commission alone. This calculator adds your optional base salary to your total commission to show total earnings for the period, useful for comparing a base-plus-commission offer against a straight commission or salary-only role.
