This secure password generator builds a character set from the categories you select (uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, symbols), then randomly picks characters from that combined set, one at a time, for your chosen password length. Each character position is selected independently, so the generated password isn't based on any word, pattern or dictionary entry.
Every additional character multiplies the total number of possible password combinations, rather than just adding to it. A longer strong password made from a smaller set of characters (say, just lowercase letters and numbers) can still be harder to crack than a shorter complex password using every character type, simply because of how quickly the possibilities compound with length.
Generating a 16-character password with uppercase, lowercase and numbers enabled (symbols off) draws from a combined character set with easily-confused characters like 0/O and l/1/I deliberately excluded, so every generated password is unambiguous to read and retype by hand. Enabling symbols too widens the character set further, meaningfully increasing the total number of possible combinations for the same 16-character length, which is why adding a character type is generally a bigger security gain than a small increase in length alone.
Choosing a short password purely because every character type is enabled, character variety matters less than raw length once you're combining multiple types, a longer password is almost always the bigger security win over adding one more character type to a short one.
Reusing a single generated password across multiple accounts, even a strong random password becomes a liability everywhere at once if that one account is ever compromised, generate and store a unique password per account, ideally in a password manager.
Disabling every character type except one (like lowercase letters only) for 'ease of typing', this dramatically shrinks the pool of possible characters at each position, making the password meaningfully easier to guess even at the same length.
Passwords are generated entirely in your browser and are never sent to or stored on our servers.
A strong password is typically at least 12-16 characters long and combines uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.
No, it's recommended to use a unique password for each account, ideally managed with a password manager.
