To calculate a tip, the formula is: Tip Amount = Bill Amount × (Tip % ÷ 100). The total bill is then the original amount plus the tip. For example, calculating a 15% tip on a 50 bill: tip amount = 50 × (15 ÷ 100) = 7.50, for a total of 57.50.
