This calculator converts each of your length, width and height entries to feet (regardless of which unit you chose for each) and multiplies them together: Cubic Feet = Length (ft) × Width (ft) × Height (ft). Cubic yards and cubic meters are shown alongside for convenience.
Cubic feet is commonly used for smaller volumes, like bagged materials (soil, mulch), appliance capacities (refrigerators, storage bins), aquarium or planter volume, or shipping and freight dimensions, generally where cubic yards would be an inconveniently large unit.
For a space 10 ft long, 10 ft wide and 1 ft deep: volume = 10 × 10 × 1 = 100 cubic feet directly. The same volume is also shown as about 3.704 cubic yards (100 ÷ 27) and about 2.832 cubic meters (100 × 0.0283168).
Assuming this calculator differs mathematically from the Cubic Yard or Cubic Meter calculators, it doesn't, all three share the exact same underlying calculation and show all three units every time, only the highlighted primary result differs by page.
Forgetting each dimension has its own independent unit selector, mixing feet, inches, yards, meters or centimeters across length, width and height is fully supported and converted correctly internally.
